By trainWaverley Station is a three-minute walk down Cockburn Street and across Waverley Bridge. Train to most of Scotland, plus the main London LNER services.
By tramEdinburgh Trams stop on Princes Street at St Andrew Square, a four-minute walk. Direct service from the airport.
By busMultiple Lothian Buses routes serve the Royal Mile and Princes Street, all within three minutes on foot.
By carNo on-site parking. Cockburn Street is pedestrian-priority, so the nearest public car parks are at St James Quarter and Castle Terrace.

What time is check-in and check-out?+

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Luggage storage is available either side of those times.

Is parking available on site?+

We don't have on-site parking. Cockburn Street is in the Old Town and is pedestrian-priority. Paid public car parks are available nearby, including St James Quarter and Castle Terrace.

Do you allow pets?+

Unfortunately not. Registered assistance dogs are welcome.

Is breakfast included?+

Breakfast is not included as standard and can be added to your booking or purchased on arrival. We also recommend the Edinburgh Press Club on the ground floor for specialty coffee and a full breakfast menu.

What is the Edinburgh Visitor Levy?+

A 5% Edinburgh Visitor Levy applies to bookings for stays on or after 24 July 2026, payable at check-in for the first five nights only. This is a city-wide charge, not specific to our hotel.

Can I check in if I'm under 18?+

The minimum check-in age is 18.

How far is The Inn Place from the Royal Mile?+

Twenty metres up the close. Cockburn Street runs straight off the Royal Mile, so you are on the Mile within seconds of stepping out the front door.

How far from Waverley Station?+

About 5 minutes on foot. Cockburn Street runs down to the back of Waverley Bridge.

Is there a lift?+

Yes, serving most floors. Step-free access is available with prior notice to the front desk. The Turret Room on the top floor may involve a short set of steps; please ask in advance if that matters.
